The Spanish multimedia artist Raimond Chaves was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1963.

His numerous projects in various countries have mostly been multilingual and have attracted a socially broad scale of participants and viewers. Among several international shows and presentations, he lately exhibited at Stichting Kaus Australis in Rotterdam, at  EAC in Castelló, Spain, and took part in the Puerto Rican art  fair PR-02.  During his numerous artist residencies and extensive travels, he has worked and exhibited in Liverpool, London, Lima, Amsterdam, Venice, Chicago, Lisbon  and Paris.

Travelling from country to country, he performs happenings that actively engage street commuters and invite them to make spontaneous artworks. These artworks, most often based on sampling of media and street graphics and communication, are then reinvented by Chaves to form independent cultural and political statements. From 2000 to 2001 he was a member of the Cambalache Collective, a Colombian-Spanish artist group known for their street barter actions.
