Two happy couples at a psychiatric clinic
These time-slice movies picture two couples at the psychiatric clinic Altrecht in Den Dolder. The couples portrayed met at the clinic and fell in-love there during respectively a long- and a short-term stay there. However still the couples tried to pose their condition didn't allow them to stay put hence the vagueness of the images.

Instead of using video camera's to achieve the time-slice effect these movies applied 24 handmade camera-obscura tins. Each tin exposed a separate single-frame negative for 2min. Facing the couples in a half-circle the shutter was lifted by hand one-by-one. This techinique was developed with the generous help of Rob Slooten.
